Teams still wanted! Skill level? Beginners are wanted!

We’re still on the hunt for more teams and players for the ball hockey tournament on September 10th, 2011 at Kingsland Community Centre in support of KidSport Calgary and Scouts Canada Chinook Council.

Beginner? No problem!  We have two groups!

We’ve had a lot of questions about the skill level and we’re putting this out there for everyone: this isn’t a competitive event it is simply a fun day for people to get together and enjoy a great game of ball hockey.

If you’ve never played ball hockey before, well we have a team for you.  We have two divisions of teams playing which includes a Group A for beginners/intermediate and then our more seasoned players will take part of our second Group B.  The goal of the event is to have fun and enjoy yourselves as such this isn’t an overly competitive tournament but more so about bringing out the spirit of giving within all of our participants and sponsors.

Sign up today!

Shoot me an email directly to derek@ballhockeytournament.com and we can get you set up with a team or if you want to bring a group out let me know as well.

Featured Team: Elevated HR

When Derek of Eligeo IT asked if we wanted to get involved in their annual ball hockey tournament, it was simply a no-brainer for us to sponsor a team.  First of all – at Elevated HR Solutions, we’ve made it our mandate to participate with as many charities and community initiatives as we can.  Second – Eligeo IT is a fantastic referral partner and friend.  We are happy to partner with amazing people in this city who actually know how to make things happen. Third – KidSport has been near and dear to us since 2007.  It takes everything we stand for: Volunteerism, Community Development, Giving Back, Sport, Competitiveness and of course Fun and puts it all together in one great weekend!

CALGARY, AB – August 9, 2011 – The local indie band Marija and Shadowstalk has agreed to play two 40 minute sets at the 2nd Annual Eligeo IT Ball Hockey Tournament fundraiser for KidSport Calgary and Scouts Canada Chinook Council on September 10th, 2011.

“We, Marija and Shadowstalk, agreed to do this fundraiser for many reasons, one of which is the love of sports and believing in giving all children the resources and opportunities to be involved in sports. Sports keep our youth active, healthy, and aids in self-confidence! Of course, we also love our home sport of ‘Hockey’!” says the band via their endorsement letter for the event.

The band will be providing the entire sound system and will also be represented by a total of 6 musicians during the lunch time period on September 10th, 2011.

5 Reasons to sign up for Ball Hockey

Summer is our favourite time of the year and I know we’re all really excited about the 2nd Annual Eligeo IT Ball Hockey Tournament.  There is a lot of cool things going on for the tournament and we’re really looking forward to the event this year.  We have a bunch of announcements, sponsors, and teams coming your way over the next few weeks.

I thought in the mean time as we work to close off 5 more registrations to complete all of our team entries.  So here are 5 reasons to sign up for the 2nd Annual Eligeo IT Ball Hockey Tournament:

  1. It’s for charity!

OK, this one is a bit of a given.  But it really is true and it is in the spirit of what it means to be a Calgarian.  When it comes to doing business, raising a family or spending time with friends it is incredibly important to stay in tune with your community.  Your community is where you are spending most of your time and it’s important that you help organizations help those around you.  KidSport Calgary and Scouts Canada both have common goals in helping young Calgarian’s get out from the couch and out with friends to participate in activities and sports.

  2. An amazing team building experience.

If you’re a business, and we typically have many businesses sign up for the tournament, then this is the ultimate team building experience.  We even had some employees from one of our team registrants, Flor-Ready, come up to us and tell us what a great team building experience it was.  Even if you as a business owner are not participating, how about sending along your employees to represent your company?

  3. Even you can get out and be active!

A lot of us get caught in the frenzy of every day life and now for 1 day out of 365 days this is an amazing opportunity to get out and get active!  The whole idea of the ball hockey tournament is to promote being active and involved in your own lives, so this is a great way to do it yourself.

  4. We’re Canadian, it’s hockey, do we need to say more?

I think I’ve said enough?  We simply love hockey.

  5. The Prizes, Entertainment and of course the Eligeo IT Trophy

If it’s bragging rights you’re after, then you’ll have the Eligeo IT Cup.  If it’s fun you’re after then we’ve got lots of it with the lunch time shoot out, live band(s) / DJ and an after party at a local establishment (to be determined).  We like to play hard, but have a lot of fun doing it too.

Well I hope we were able to give you some ideas and thoughts on what to expect at the tournament and WHY you need to register.  If you haven’t registered a team then you need to head over to the registration page right away.

We’re looking forward to seeing all of you in 44 days!
